Happy Birthday Beautiful!

Okay, WordPress readers and followers. This is something personal. Allow me to post this open letter for a good friend of mine. I wanted her to really feel that today is her day.

Dear Gienah,

How are you doing? I hope you are feeling awesome today. This is your day so you better enjoy it. Have fun and relax. I was not okay but I tried my best to put myself together just to greet you and do something for you. Starting this post, I am feeling better little by little. We are both an OFW, so there are times we have the homesickness attack. Today is one of my days where I want to be home, see friends and family in the Philippines and laugh with them. Do you feel that today? I hope not because I believe that God surrounded you with great people in your life who can inspire and encourage you there at Qatar.Yes you are in Qatar, I am in Aruba but that doesn’t mean I won’t greet you and be a friend during your special day. Ako na ang ma-drama dito! Wag kang gumaya sa akin nag-e-emo ako. Mapalad ka dahil wala akong ginagawa ngayon at makakapag-greet ako ng bongga sayo tulad nito. HAHA

Anyways, there are things I want to say  and I want you to be encouraged.

  1. You are wonderfully made

Psalm 139:14  (NIV)

 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.

O diba ibig sabihin daw nakakatakot ka! HAHA Fearfully! God created you uniquely. You know what I like about you that I do not have? Your sexy body and your complexion. But I  do not envy you don’t worry. Sometimes we may think that we are not appreciated and accepted but I want you to know that God loves you so much. He created you in His own image, it means you are perfect in God’s eyes. People may hurt you and they may look down on you but remember that God sees you so precious.I am proud of you. I have a beautiful friend. 🙂 So today please feel wonderful!

2. You are beautiful

It’s so amazing how God looks at us. He looks at you as perfect while we sometimes look down on ourselves (well all the time, I guess!) So please be reminded that you are beautiful no matter how you feel you are not. He doesn’t look at your mistakes or weaknesses. He sees you perfect so when you feel you are not beautiful. Remember what God says to you. And you really are beautiful huh?!

I am so glad that you are now a worship leader. Gosh! I was really happy when you told me that. I am proud of you and I really had a feeling that you will be in God’s ministry, knowing you will be with ate Angel. Wow. She is a great mentor. I miss her. Say hi to her for me 🙂

Honored to be part of their wedding. And you were really pretty that day 🙂

3. You are a Jolly Person

People love to be with you. Hindi ka burden sa iba kasi nagpapasaya ka at blessing ka sa amin. Kaya magpa-Jollibee ka naman dyan!

4. You have a golden voice

I pray that God will use you mightily in His ministry. As  a worship leader, I pray for God’s authority and power over your life. Sing for Him, keep leading the people in God’s presence. You are in a right path my dear. The journey of Christian life isn’t easy but fulfilling. God is awesome. Hindi pang karaoke lang ang boses, pang langit pa! 🙂

Let’s get social

We live in a generation where social media is taking over our life. When we wake up in the morning instead of having a quiet time with the Lord by reading His word, praying and meditation, we grabbed our phone and go straight to our social accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc to check the

Images, CTTO

latest gossip and news. Some will take morning selfies, afternoon selfies and goodnight selfies. It depends on the mood. I believe that there are advantages and disadvantages. That’s how the generation now, what to do? What to do? Well we can’t do anything but my answer is.. Let’s get social!

We can still balance it. You can be active on your social network accounts but remember to take time with your love ones. Have a social life literally. When you go out with your friends, try not to spend a lot of time on your phone. Have a good and deep conversation with your friends, laugh or if needed cry with them. If you want to take selfie or groufie HAHA, take one or two but never spend the entire time taking pictures and you would not able to have some quality time with your friends or love ones, better post it on you social media accounts when you get home. So all your attention is with them.

Lets get social!  You can post on your timeline , it’s okay. We are free to say whatever its in our hearts but take your time to message your close friends as well. I appreciate likes on my photos or posts but when a friend exert effort to inbox me to ask how am I doing, I am loving that. I feel loved. We liked our Facebook friends images but let us like them too. There are people who only add people on their list because they want to just know what’s going in their lives and when they see something on their wall, they started to gossip about it. Let us be real friends, chat with them, be friendly but not flirting to opposite gender (especially when you are already taken, engaged or married) Also, when someone is posting about his/her success, let us be happy about it and for them. Remove any jealousy and insecurities in your heart. They are not helpful.

Social media can be very helpful to us for important  news around the world but it can also be a distraction to us. It is up to us if we let it take over our lives. Be on guard. If it takes more of your time and you are not being productive, take a break from social media. Life can still go on with or without it. Let’s socialize to our family, friends. Do not let your phones, tablet or any website rule you and ruin your relationships. Balance it. 🙂

Let us be a generation who seek God first before social media. Read your Bible not only posts or tweets. Do not only share verses on your timeline, websites, have time to meditate on it and apply in your life. Exercise kindness, humility and love online or offline.   Let’s get social!

Take a selfie! Smile, not only on your selfie but to everyone you see. Be a blessing today! 🙂

There’s a lot to discover

 “Never judge someone
By the way he looks
Or a book by the way it’s covered;
For inside those tattered pages,
There’s a lot to be discovered”
Stephen Cosgrove

Not all we see is real. Not all we heard is true. This past few months of reading, browsing, researching and following stories after stories, issues after issues about Philippine Presidential Candidacy 2016, I’ve seen and heard how dirty politics is, how bias medias are and how poor governance we really have. Filipinos’ outrage voices around the world had been heard on social media. Posts, video clips, comments and reactions regarding this filled my Facebook wall and timeline.

I participated twice in election but once in Presidential Election. I was not able to vote this year for my name was not in the list. But it doesn’t mean I do not have a voice and won’t participate. I won’t shut up. (Shut up na lang, pag di voters?) I believe election is not for voters only, its for all Filipinos. I so love my country and I can’t wait to see changes. I can’t wait to come home without worrying about the robbers and snatchers. I can’t wait to see the places with less traffics. Safety and security, I can’t wait to trust police who exercise peace and order. I cannot wait to see peace and order.

Do I have a voice? Yes I have. I am not a voter but I am a Filipino. I am an OFW (Overseas Filipino Workers). If our government is not corrupt, there will  be no OFW around the world, leaving their country, family and love ones for they want to give their children a better life. Do you think they want to leave them? DO you think they love being in other place, suffering, crying so hard at night because of homesickness. They are not only physically tired but fighting as well mentally and emotionally. I know some of them broke down and completely disconnect from reality. They lost their mind. Not all are strong but all of them striving to be strong. This is a cry of a Filipino who among millions of people desiring and hoping for changes in the country. We are rich in resources. I really believe we are rich but sadly to say Corruption is killing us all.

I am for Mayor Rodrigo Duterte as President.

(CTTO)   Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte

Rodrigo “Rody” Roa Duterte[2] (born March 28, 1945), nicknamed Digong, is a Filipino lawyer, politician and the 16th President-elect of the Republic of Philippines[3]. He is among the longest-serving mayors in the Philippines and has been mayor of Davao City, a city of 1,449,296 people on Mindanao island, for seven terms, totalling more than 22 years. He has also served as vice-mayor of and congressman for the city.

Popular with the locals due to his successful zero tolerance policies against criminals, he was given the nickname “The Punisher” byTime.[4]Vigilante groups tied to Duterte are thought to be responsible for the execution of drug traffickers, criminals, gang members and other perceived “lawless elements”. During Duterte’s 22 years in office, the crime rate in Davao City, in the 1970s and 1980s known as the “murder capital of the Philippines”, went down. While the city presents itself as one of the world’s safest places,[5]recent data from the Philippine National Police lists Davao City as the city with the highest number of murders and with the second highest number of rape incidents in the country.[6]

Duterte had been urged to run for the Philippine presidency numerous times, [7] but refused these offers until well into 2015 on the grounds of a “flawed government system” and opposition from his family.[8] Nevertheless, on 21 November 2015 he declared his candidacy in the 2016 election contest for the office of the President of the Philippines.

I am one of the millions who supports him. He has a bad mouth, yes, he curses and all. He is a womanizer which he admitted also, but he is the only politician I’ve known who really catches the heart of many Filipinos because of his sincerity, love for people and the country. I am a Christian and I do not say bad words but I do not judge him, in fact I started to pray for him and admire him. Hmm… I wanted to say more but yeah… For me, he is still the best among the rest.

CTTO: CNN Philippines

But I respect other’s opinion. We have different views and belief. My father is for Grace Poe, my grandmother is for Mar Roxas, Me and my siblings are for Mayor Duterte. We are okay with that. We respect. Vote for who you think the right person. We are all free to choose.

I look up to Duterte, he is like a father to me. My sister and I prayed so hard for him and even want to hug him for all the defamation. We still believe in him. We even cried  for him (a lot!) “Change is coming”. Yesterday was the election. After he voted, he went to his parents grave and the video of him went viral for he sobbed in front of his Mom’s grave. I know and I feel that cry is not only because he misses his mom but that is also for the Philippines, for the people, for me, for us. ‘The Punisher’ has surely has the heart. Change is coming and God will use him.

Mayor Duterte leads insurmountable.

‘It’s with humility, extreme humility, that I accept this, the mandate of the people,’  Duterte says in Davao City (Rappler)

Congratulations! I am a Filipino and my President is Rodrigo Duterte.

Sacrifice. Big Word

Sacrifice. Big Word.

Will you call this Sacrifice?

Studied a course that I did not like

I wanted to please him so I  did

Will you call it Sacrifice?

If I chose to be a maid just to have a better life

I struggled, I cried and I almost give up

But still I chose this path for them

For my father that I wanted to be with

For my family , financially I can provide

Will you call this sacrifice?

I left my country , family and friends

And to believe that I am brave

My career , my life I sacrifice

Did I regret it? Yes I must say

But helping them makes me happy

If this is His will, I am willing to sacrifice

But if He says, It is time

I will choose and have faith in Him

To take the path I want and He wants.

Looking at Him, how he sacrificed someone

Someone valuable for the sake of others

His Son was given, died on the cross for us

Mine is just little compare to the pain He felt

Just to save you and me

So I will endure because He is with me

He is not against me, I believe

I don’t deserve His love but I will choose to serve

I give my heart and my life as a living sacrifice

Big Word.

There’s light even in darkness

It was one gloomy night, Leah had a hard time sleeping. 11:00 pm was usually her lights off but she turned them off earlier like 8:00 pm, hoping she could have a good enough sleep. She was in the corner of her room sitting on the ground, her face covered with her hands, sobbing. She did not know what to do but cry and cry. Her heart was so much in pain, wanting to stop the beat. She was alone, she felt alone. No one seems to understand. She noticed and realized that someone was beside her. She was bigger than her. She knows she’s gonna come, Shadow. Her shadow of fear, anxiety and depression filled the room.

Leah: Why are you here, Shadow?

Shadow: I’ve been with you all along, haven’t you notice? Do you remember when you were at school? You were always scared to speak during recitations even you know the answers of professor’s questions? You barely participate because you are afraid to make mistakes, I was there

Leah: I wanted to give it a try, you know? But I could not. My hands were shaking, I was so shy. I was praying but there were times I participated. I tried..

Shadow: When you were at the laboratory during Science class, you were staring at your classmate. You even whispered I wish I am attractive as her. Every guy looked at her when she entered the room. I was behind you and you suddenly became sad.

Leah: I tried to look in my inner beauty, Shadow. I know I said that, but did I really dwell on it the entire time?

Leah grabbed her phone and went to Google while tears keep falling from her eyes.

Shadow: Yes, you are smaller, you don’t have branded and fancy clothes like they have, you are usually alone and you think too much about how pitiful you are. They looked smart and cool. They never bother to be with you, though because you are so silent, perhaps they think you are boring. I followed you when you sat down in the lobby. I know that you felt alone and miserable. No one dare to care. You will laugh around them but deep inside you were crying wishing you could be like them.

Leah stared typing on google search “What to do when you cry excessively?” . Her eyes are filled with tears, she was breathing heavy. But she managed to tell Shadow, “I know I am not as cool as them but that doesn’t mean I don’t laugh. I have friends too where I can be myself, I am a jolly person. Yes, not to all. I do not show my self to people that easily but when they get to know me, I became vulnerable to them.”

She still cries and this time harder. Shadow will never stop reminding her past and her present. She suddenly misses her old life, her friends in the Philippines. She is currently living in abroad for a better life. She had people there to run to whenever she feels alone and sad unlike in her current situation. She got new friends in new place but she couldn’t let out some stuff to them for some reasons. During her younger years, she felt that she was not “in” at school because she doesn’t do what they do. She is not a party person. After school, she goes home immediately unless it is required to stay longer for projects and school activities. Weekends are her favorite days because she spent time at Christian organization and do church ministries. She loved that. For her, that place is not just a place to worship God but they are her family. She had been through ups and downs with them, they laughed and cried at the same time. They had misunderstanding quite few times, they hurt each other and for them it is normal in any relationship but at the end they still choose to love and accept each other. She knows from her heart that this is the place where she belongs. Her comfort zone.

Leah: “It is not true that I was alone, Shadow.God sent people for me to keep going and get some encouragements when I feel weak. We build each other up. We shared real friendship. It is just happened that I think I have to experience this for a specific reason, I wanted to give u, there is one voice saying to stop and end my life but the other voice is clear and striving and fighting for me. He told me to keep going and never give up. I know it is him who is fighting for me. He says in His Word that He created us uniquely. We are all beautiful”

Shadow: Yeah, but you never believe it. He created you uniquely but did you really embrace that you are unique, special and awesome?

Leah: I did. But there are times, I don’t. Like now..”

Shadow: You are not capable of doing great things. You will be forever like this, afraid to talk to people, no confidence. You will just keep silent all the time, sad and ugly. You are not smart either. You finish your college but you do not believe in your capabilities so, what now? You are not worthy. You are going to be like this every time. You are wasted and a mess.

Why are crying right now, Leah?

Words like..

‘No one understand me’

I am so tired of myself

My career won’t ever grow, I am a mess

I am not worthy

I am not capable

I am not smart,

I am unaccepted

I am unloved

I am nothing but a trash

I want to end this.

I heard these words a lot of times. When you came home, you were with your friends happy, laughing but when you enter your room, these words bouncing in your head. I heard everything. I see everything. You start to dig a hole for  negative thought, you never notice that the hole is this big now and you are almost on the ground. I see everything, I was standing behind you.

Leah was reading symptoms of anxiety attack. Every word she read and heard was like a knife stubbing her inmost being, she couldn’t breathe, and she was fighting. She wanted to scream I am crazy, I need a doctor. Someone whispered to her that she needs a doctor.  But the other voice saying, you are perfectly fine. You are not sick. You are healed. Finally, she got the courage to stop and remember what had she learned from the Word.

Leah: Shadow, I ask you to leave me. I don’t want to see you and I do not want to hear anything from you. Please leave me. Stop copying me and following me. In fact, it’s dark here why are you still around?

Shadow: You will always see me,Leah. I will be in front, behind and beside you in darkness. As long as that little spark of light in you shines, you will always encounter me, you will hear me all the time, every where when there is a chance. You will still see me in darkness but it is up to you if you will ignore me or not, to fear me or not.

She stood up, Shadow followed her. She stared outside through the window, the night was almost over. It’s almost morning and she did not sleep. The routine happened for months but tonight, she wanted Shadow to stop and leave her.

Leah: When I see you, I will not listen to you. I will not entertain you. You are not real. Everything is a lie. God did not created me for that belief. He promised me a good future.

He said:

I am accepted.

I want a Beach Wedding!

This is a response to The Daily Post topic : Beach . Now, I am really blogging, second time joining the challenge. I did not know this would be really fun! 🙂 Yesterday, I join the weekly challenge and  wrote about Raison d’etre: Write to Inspire . Today, I got excited when I noticed they also have daily prompts, I feel the kilig when I see Beach.

I’ve been engaged to my fiancee for four months now. Last January 1st, he popped the question “Will you marry me?” with a ring pop, literally. HAHA And do you know what my answer is? Obviously I said Yes.

Here I am writing about it. I am a Filipino currently living in the beautiful Island of Aruba. Why not embrace the fact that I am surrounded with stunning beaches? So we finally decided a beach wedding. Does woman really win all the time? HAHA Not really but truly the beaches in Aruba are so awesome! We love it! Many tourists travel regularly in the island and their words will always be “Aruba is so beautiful”

The beach is a perfect place to meditate on God’s beauty.

His creation is beautiful.I have Christian friends who also love doing their devotion at the beach. It’s truly relaxing and spirit calming. You will hear the sounds of the waves and feel the breeze. Gash! I love that 🙂 God’s creation is awesome. Amazing!

akoto e

We have a saying that Life is like a beach. Everyone has his own definition of this, I’m gonna try to define it on my own. I would sit down for hours looking around and still won’t fed up with it’s beauty. The only thing is the sun. It is so hot, others love the heat and likes to get tanned, you’ll get tanned in Aruba very quickly in the sun andako in the pure air. At first I did not like it but I embraced the reality that I am living in the island of Aruba, gotta accept the truth that I will get tanned. HAHA :)My future loves my complexion, though! 🙂 Tourists came for the sunset. Everyone would love to wait for the sunrise and the sunset. I am not a morning person, I prefer sunset 🙂 My father works in a
hotel and he said, early in the morning, guests really wait for the sun to rise as well as the sunset. There they go, KODAK! Click! Selfie here, Selfie there! I’m on vacation.

I am blessed because I live in the island, I can enjoy the beauty whenever I want. Thank God!

I wish I can take more photos right now. I feel like going to the beach today. Oh Gash. Let us see.

I cannot make this photo bigger. I grabbed this photo from my IG account. This was taken last year when I had a chance to have a vacation stay at Marriott Hotel. A view from the room. So beautiful, isn’t it?

That’s why it is so exciting to get married in Aruba but it’s also expensive, needless to say. Do you think beach wedding are only for rich people?  I don’t think so. I have faith , it’s a beach wedding! 🙂

How can you say no to beach wedding? Tell me. I am in love 🙂

I am getting married this year to the love of my life, my angel and my answered prayer.

Soon I will post my prenuptial photos.

Thank you The Daily Post, I am able to share a glimpse of Aruba. A perfect place for beach wedding.

Raison d’etre: Write to Inspire

While browsing, I  read a post from The Daily Post and I was motivated and inspired to join the weekly challenge. This is my first time 🙂  Let me give it a try

Raison d’être is a French term, meaning “the reason or justification for existence.”

Why do I write? Why do I blog? Why am I here? What on earth I am here for? WOW! Actually these questions were walking and playing around my head for a while now.

As a beginner, I actually do not know why I am doing this. At first, I just want to give it a try but it suddenly been a cry of my heart to write more. I would admit that there were days that I just want to stop writing, deactivate WordPress account and just simply live my life. Will still continue writing, though… in my journal. But there’s like an urge in my heart to write online, the reasons were unclear..

Am I the only one who has a low self-esteem? Am I the only one on earth who cry excessively for many reasons and none? Am I the only one who is not confident about herself and started to feel unworthy and a nobody? Am I the only person who lives on this earth having this depression and anxiety? Am I the only one who has a low self confidence? I bet there are many.

I was a maid for 4 years and it was really hard to believe in myself that I can do better than cleaning. I graduated with a bachelor degree but there are reasons why I chose this path. Do I look down on the job? Definitely not. Did I look down on my self? Yes. I had no choice. I needed to endure it for the sake of “working permit” so I can stay in the country/island, Aruba. I am an overseas worker. I left my country Philippines for the belief I could earn more money and help my family. Helping them is not bad, in fact, it was awesome. There is just this pain in my heart that I wanted to do greater but I could not. A deep longing whenever I am alone in my room for God’s joy and peace everyday. I write because I felt helpless and I wanted my voice to be heard. I wanted to encourage others who are experiencing the same thing and let them know that there is a way out. Low-self esteem, depression and anxiety, feeling unworthy and useless, they must end before these can destroy your heart and whole being. I was at the end of the rope but I am grateful because God is faithful.

Whenever I write, I feel different. I am somebody. I feel smarter and confident. My voice has been heard, the cry of my heart has been perceived. When I am weak, I find strength in writing. It is my escape. Writing is something I would never stop doing, online or offline, publish or unpublished because this is one of the ways where I see myself as somebody. The princess who is stronger in the midst of any trials. The one who can smile in front of others as if there are no heartaches. I know a lot of people who are very good in covering their pain through laughing and smiling; I am one of them. It is not bad at all. But when I write, I cannot hide it. What I write most of the time reflects on what I feel.

When I am weak, I find strength in writing. It is my escape. Writing is something I would never stop doing, online or offline, publish or unpublished because this is one of the ways where I see myself as somebody.

I won’t give the credit to writing alone but to the God who speaks to me to do so. I write not only because of oneself’s expression but to inspire others and use this to reveal what God has done to me. During my years as a maid, I have learned a lot, I had rough days..a lot! 🙂 But those years are just a part of the journey, God shaped me to a person I became now, he comforted me, he rescued me, he healed me and now I have a story to share.

My name is Princess and my raison d’etre is to write to express, inspire and give God the glory.

What’s yours? 🙂
