Hello there peeps! I am happy when I get a chance to write here. I am on my 13th day. Whooo! Slowly but I am actually okay with it now, unlike before I stress it out, wanting to finish the challenge as soon as possible. I realized and learned the slow progress, surprisingly, I am really okay with it now.
It is good to have these kind of reminders who I really am, what I like, what I love to do. So, here’s my hobbies and interests.
This is my first one, of course. I love singing and doing this is kind of my escape. When I am stress, I sing, when I am happy, I sing. In every season I do this.
Oh yeah! Before blogging, I really love writing my thoughts and how the day went. But I am not gonna lie, these days, I don’t really have enough time to do it. It’s okay (tapping my shoulder) There’s no rule -like I have to do this everyday. I love doing this any time I am available.
I also do some planning before I start the day, the creative way. I am currently using Mini Happy Planner.
Love pictures and memory keeping. Not that so good but I have a lot scraps at home. Maybe one day, I can share my art here in my blog. Yes! Let’s do that.
I always want to join some workshops but budget is not enough for that, so I learned it online. Google is our best friend, remember? Mostly, I browse in Pinterest. It has more ideas.
So, I guess I am more interested with creativity and arts. 🙂 Let’s just include “writing”. I am still hoping and dreaming that I could be a good writer. And blogging is truly helpful in practicing this and pursuing it.
I am glad to share this with you! How about you? What interests you? 🙂
So, I am still in this challenge. Day 12 huh? Progress. I realized that I do not need to hurry and finish the challenge the way others do…like everyday post. I wish I can do that but for now, I am taking my time, whenever I am available, I will write and blog. It is important that you will enjoy what you are doing not stressing about it and try to fit in.
I took my time thinking about what I like and dislike. It is not that easy huh? But this helps me to understand more of myself.
I DISLIKE: #1 Showing off. I believe that nowadays, this generation, you can easily find people who try their best to show off and let people think that everything is perfect in their life. It is sad in a way that in this way, others become depressed looking how miserable their life is. People tend to compare themselves to others. So, I actually dislike this character. I don’t usually dislike the person itself, it’s just that… the way they do to impress others is not my thing. To be honest, you can really feel someone if they are just happy genuinely or just showing off. Social media is the best source to find these kind of people. Let us be real, friends. Life is not a competition. Just enjoy your journey.
I LIKE: Humble people. Private People. Sometimes they really are the ones who can boast everything in their lives but they keep themselves low. I really love this character. It’s just amazing that they don’t live to impress.
I DISLIKE: #2 Complaining. At some point of our lives, we do this. But the one I don’t really like is the severe one, the extreme one. There are people who just love to do this all the time, it saddens me as well how discontentment people are. And they don’t see the beauty of everything, of life. And just simply enjoy it. One example: I currently live in the beautiful island of Aruba. This past year I’ve been working in the hospitality industry, where customer service is highly required. I meet different people and one of them are the ones who complain about everything. They complain how expensive, the currency, and even the weather? Can you believe that? The weather!!!! Aruba has a tropical climate. It doesn’t rain here most of the time. It’s hot here and tourists love it. But there were days that we get rain, I do believe we need it. And some of them they got upset about that. They came for the sun.
“When do you think the rain stops?” guest asked. “Oh,Ma’am it will be sunny soon, in Aruba rain doesn’t flow that long, few minutes only.” I answered. “Are you sure?” she asked back with her angry tone. I just smiled. In my mind: “OMG is it my fault that it rains? Do I have the power to control it?” Jeezz.. Why! OH Why!!
I LIKE: COOL and Appreciative. There are people who still find Aruba just fine whether it rains or not. They appreciate the traits Aruban has. They are truly friendly and nice. Everyone greets you “Bondia (Good morning), Bontardi (Good Afternoon)” whether they know you or not. It’s Aruba thing! And I love it.
In general, I like people who are just fine whatever the situation. Grateful and content in life. I admire them. Such an inspiration.
I DISLIKE: #3 I don’t like raisins. I just don’t like them. I don’t know why!
I LIKE: I can only eat the tart with cooked prunes in the middle.
I DISLIKE: #4 Cockroaches. Who would like these? In Philippines where I grow up, there’s a lot. HAHA Ewww. Especially when they start to fly. I can’t… I would cry!
I LIKE: the living in Aruba. We don’t have cockroaches here. Thank God.
I DISLIKE: #6 Songs with bad words. I know everyone has an opinion about this. I don’t judge them but it’s just not my style to listen to lyrics with bad words, mostly the whole song. HEHE
I LIKE: Music in general. I love to sing and dance. It’s my thing! I love arts too such as scrap booking, Journaling and creative planning.
I DISLIKE:#7 Religious Acts. I grew up in a Christian family. As you grow, you learned that God doesn’t really want you to act religiously with hypocrisy. He wants relationship with you. Just be real and true, know HIS will and what HE wants you to do, and you will know it by reading HIS word and commands.
I LIKE: Serving God. I know He gives me more than I deserve so it is in my heart to serve HIM wholeheartedly.
I DISLIKE: #8 Broken Promises. There’s a saying ‘Promises are made to be broken’. It’s better not to promise and just do it than giving someone false hopes.
I LIKE: God’s promises. It never fails and he fulfills. In this world, we cannot trust anyone but HIM. I cling to His promises.
I DISLIKE: #9 I don’t like when people make other look bad to make themselves look good.
I LIKE: Real ones. Friends will say good things about you especially when you are not around. They are very rare. When you found them, treasure them.
I DISLIKE: #10 Rude and Arrogant.
I LIKE: Chocolates, Buko (Coconut) Juice and shakes, smoothies. HAHA Not connected with rudeness but yeah. I love these. 🙂
I think I am good at this. Like, admitting and sharing some of your weaknesses. I wanted to real in this world full of pretensions.
Everyday we see people posting beautiful stuff on their social media and it always look like they are all having a perfect life. But guess what? It’s not. IT’s UNREAL.
So at this post, I have to be transparent at some point. Sharing things I am awful at is kind of fun, isn’t it?
I am not good at sports. Sometimes, I think the reason why I didn’t grow, I mean literally, my height is 4’10”, because my bones weren’t stretch that much. I wish I am a sports minded, but I am not. HAHA
I got mad easily. I even told this to my husband when we were dating that at times, I got irritated immediately. I don’t know if that is my hormones or just my personality. I have to work it out, you know? I am learning, though. I need more patience.
Stubborn. When I want to do something, I must do it. It’s like ‘What Princess wants, Princess gets’. But believe or not, God changes me. I know I still have this at times but God is good for helping me overcome it. Take note: I am not worse. HAHA It’s just mild.
I need to exercise.
Consistency. When I begin to do something to be productive, I started it and then after a while, I stopped. Just like this blog challenge. I wanted to do it everyday the day I started, but it was not easy. I also started a “photo a day” on Instagram but after days, I cancelled it. SIgh! I want to be consistent but I am so bad at this. So help me, God! HAHA
So, these are the seven things I am awful at. They are some of my weaknesses, but I want to believe that knowing and accepting these are just a way of improvement.
We can always try to be better on things we are bad at, right?
It’s Day 10 of 30 Day Challenge! Though, I am not able to do this everyday, I am trying my best to finish the challenge on my own time. No pressure. I am still grateful that I reached this day. HAHA 10th. 20 more. It’s called progress.
What do people misunderstand about me?
Oh well! I think the way I talk. Some people misunderstood is as an angry tone of yelling. HAHA My husband mostly noticed that. “Why are you yelling?” he asked. Deep down my heart I am just normal talking to him. I told him that before, there will be time that you will think I am angry but I am not. It’s just that’s the way I talk.
When I care, I correct. But that’s one of my ways to care. I don’t want my friends or people that I care about to suffer because of wrong decision. Some will find this positive but others offensive.
I understand. I learned from it. I have to ask permission first if he/she needs to hear my opinion or not. Unsolicited opinion is not okay. So, I guess, I learned to adjust with that.
How about you? What do they misunderstand about you?
Hello there! I’ve been out of this blog circle the past days. It’s still in my heart to finish this 30 Blog challenge, though I can’t do it everyday. I decided to write in my own schedule, when I have a chance.
I love doing this so I will try and try til I become consistent. I hope so. Okay. Let’s continue, I am currently in Day 9.
I just wish that people will be more genuine and true. Religious people tend to be hypocrite and dishonest. Why don’t we just be real and having a good relationship with God will be the main purpose of life. We do not have to show off how holy we are. Only God sees everything even the deepest motives of our heart. So if I will be able to get rid of something in this world, number 1 is the religious act. Act normal and real, my friends. When I say this, of course, we still want to act according to what God wants us to. Religious acts won’t save us, my dear friends.
Fear hinders us to do great things. With all sincerity, I would love to get rid of this and make everyone brave. Do the things you love to do and just be happy.
3. Poverty. Let’s all be rich! HAHA
4. RACISM. Period.
To be honest I can’t think more. HAHA So , I only have 5 things to get rid of in the world.
At the end of the day, these things are in the world for a reason. We face it almost everyday. Let if flow but be against the flow. Be the change you want to be.
How about you? What would you like to get rid of in this world? Share your thoughts. Have a great day!
If you want to know more about the power of prayer, this book is good for you. This helped me so much with my Christian walk. Not only understanding the importance of prayers but it’s also a way to fall in love with your Creator. I thank God for this book 🙂
2. Living Courageously
I had years of extreme sadness, let us say I experienced depression. God healed me, the Lord used people and books for me to get up again. This book was a very helpful tool for people who live in fears and doubts. If you think you cannot do anything anymore, you’re wrong. It is good to ‘not give up’ and find ways to get up, again. Be brave!
3. Shopaholic Series
And if you want to laugh out loud, Sophie Kinsella is my favorite author. This was introduced to me by a friend named Leah ( we have the same name, though! We’re both kikay HAHA) I love Sophie’s book. OMG! She’s very humorous. There was one time, I read one of her books from morning to midnight, she’s just adorable, funny and witty that I was really into it. So, if you want to laugh, her books are for you.
It is okay to not be okay, sometimes. What is not okay is to be afraid all the time. The “what ifs” and “but’s” hinder you to pursue what you really want to do. You should go for it. You should learn to risk. The thing is, you are very careful, so afraid to make mistake.
Mistakes make us human. It is okay. We learn from them. You must be brave to face all your fears. Because the truth is everyone feels it, the only difference is… they do it afraid. So do it! Search it and pursue it.
Stop pleasing people. Stop thinking how and what people reacts on your decision. It is your life you are building. What they say don’t matter. You should listen to what your heart say. Be confident. Be fearless.
But in fairness, I love how you love God. You gave everything to Him, you want to follow what He wants, though you struggle, you still choose to obey Him. Your heart at this season to His is on fire. Your plans in life are just plans but you make sure that those are pleasing to Him. Your passion in serving Him is amazing and I love that about you. Though you are unsure on what the future brings, the only thing that hold you up is the line “I trust you, Lord” and believing that He will take care of you. That’s what He does. That’s who He is.- our loving Father.
Stay in Him.
I was stocked in this challenge, because I think I wasn’t that confident to say these words, I had to reflect. And yeah, whatever! Say it. 😂
Wish someone told me all these things. Wish I was brave enough to pursue what I really want to do. Wish I was confident and believe more in myself. I believed in God but I was lacking of confidence. Does it make sense? Haha But this is in the past, life goes on and I have learned a lot. The truth is, we still have time. Age is just a number. Do what really your heart is telling you. Just Do it…. Afraid.
“I remember kneeling down and praying to God. I was tired of childish and vain relationships. I asked God to give me a godly wife who loves Him above all else, who is able to love her husband and help raise godly children. “God, please let her be a Filipina, and help us to love each other the way you want, to grow in you together.” God taught me to seek Him first , to set my affections on things above and to serve Him. About a year later he let me meet that woman. – Rowin Brandon
“I was earnestly praying to God to show me and send me the one whom He created just for me, my lifetime partner. I wasn’t desperate but I really wanted God’s will to be done in my life. I had composed a prayer song that time and there is a part that says “I want to meet that man who loves God more than I, who tries to do the will of God. I want to wait for him and be with him for the rest of my life.” God taught me to focus more on Him, seek Him and know Him deeper. While chasing God he led me to this man. I knew from the moment I first saw him that he is the one I would call MINE. I could even hear God whispering to my ears “My Princess, he is the one” –Princess Leah
This was written on our wedding invitation. Proudly telling our love ones and friends that God made a way for us to be together. God is good all the time.
I’ve learned this Five Love Languages during my younger years. It helped me discover myself and others. When you understand someone’s love language, you are able to adjust easily. I’m not gonna lie, it’s not that easy all the time. It is truly difficult to adjust to someone unless you learn that person really well.
Why is it important to know these things? If you are struggling with your relationship, knowing this helps you adjust to love the right way.
When I did the test few years ago when I was single, my highest score was Words of Affirmation.
I just did the test today, this time I did the test for couples. And guess what? It’s still the same. HAHA I thought I’ve changed a little bit but it’s still my highest. Words are life to me. KIND words I meant.
Here’s the result and the explanation : (from this site)
Words of Affirmation
” Actions don’t always speak louder than words. If this is your love language, unsolicited compliments mean the world to you. Hearing the words, “I love you,” are important – hearing the reasons behind that love sends your spirits skyward. Insults can leave you shattered and are not easily forgotten. Kind, encouraging, and positive words are truly life-giving.”
If you want to get my heart, tell me endearing words. This way, I may feel love by you. I remember telling my husband when we were still dating few years ago, when I get mad, just tell me “You’re beautiful”, we’ll be good. HAHA So he knows what to do when I get mad, he will start telling me good things and tell me how he appreciates me. Guess what? He never changed. He still the same.
This is my love language. I feel really loved if someone compliments me, appreciates me by telling me wonderful words. And this also kills me, when you say hurtful words, I will remember it and will be really be in pain. I can’t just forget it easily. I am sensitive in this part.
Acts of Service
Can vacuuming the floors really be an expression of love? Absolutely! Anything you do to ease the burden of responsibilities weighing on an “Acts of Service” person will speak volumes. The words he or she most want to hear: “Let me do that for you.” Laziness, broken commitments, and making more work for them tell speakers of this language their feelings don’t matter. Finding ways to serve speaks volumes to the recipient of these acts.
Woahh, So, this is now my second. Before, my second to the highest was Quality time. When I got married, mostly of our disagreements and discussion is who do the household chores. I got mad if I will do it alone. Since, we are both working. It is good if we help each other with all the household chores. And thank God, when we talked about it and scheduled the task for the day, he cooperates. And I really appreciate him especially now. He really helps me a lot, when he sees me so tired, he doesn’t want me to do anything. He will do them for me. Thank God for him.
In the vernacular of Quality Time, nothing says, “I love you,” like full, undivided attention. Being there for this type of person is critical, but really being there – with the TV off, fork and knife down, and all chores and tasks on standby – makes your significant other feel truly special and loved. Distractions, postponed dates, or the failure to listen can be especially hurtful. Quality Time also means sharing quality conversation and quality activities.
Love this time with him, as well. And whenever we have the same off day, we tell each other “I’m glad I could spend time with you” AWWW I melt (Words of affirmation pa rin diba? HEHE)
This language isn’t all about the bedroom. A person whose primary language is Physical Touch is, not surprisingly, very touchy. Hugs, pats on the back, holding hands, and thoughtful touches on the arm, shoulder, or face – they can all be ways to show excitement, concern, care, and love. Physical presence and accessibility are crucial, while neglect or abuse can be unforgivable and destructive. Physical touch fosters a sense of security and belonging in any relationship.
Though this is not my highest score, I do not neglect this part of a relationship. Every language is important to exercise.
Don’t mistake this love language for materialism; the receiver of gifts thrives on the love, thoughtfulness, and effort behind the gift. If you speak this language, the perfect gift or gesture shows that you are known, you are cared for, and you are prized above whatever was sacrificed to bring the gift to you. A missed birthday, anniversary, or a hasty, thoughtless gift would be disastrous – so would the absence of everyday gestures. Gifts are visual representations of love and are treasured greatly.
Last but not the least… Gifts are awesome! But this part of our relationship isn’t my thing. HAHA It is great but this doesn’t affect me that much emotionally.
Here’s my result:
Words of Affirmation
Acts of Service
It is important to understand every love language so you will know how to express your love to your partner. This doesn’t only apply to your boyfriend/girlfriend or husband/wife, it could also express to any kind of relationship – friendship, family, parents, workmates etc.
Feel free to test yourself. What’s your love language?
